Cookie Policy
Last updated : 02/01/2026
beReferenced places a high priority on transparency regarding the use of your browsing data. This Cookie Policy details the nature, purpose, and management of trackers (cookies) deployed on our Platform.
1. What is a Cookie?
A "cookie" (or tracker) is a small text file deposited and read when visiting a website, reading an email, or installing a software application. It allows information relating to the user's navigation on a platform to be memorized in order to optimize their experience, ensure service security, or carry out audience measurement statistics.
In accordance with the guidelines of the European Data Protection Board and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the use of certain cookies is subject to your prior consent.
2. Types of Cookies Used on beReferenced
Our Platform primarily uses technical and functional trackers, considered strictly necessary for providing the service explicitly requested by the user.
2.1. Strictly Necessary Cookies (Exempt from consent)
These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the beReferenced SaaS Platform. Disabling them would prevent the normal use of our services. They are deployed based on our legitimate interest in ensuring the operation and security of our infrastructure.
- Purposes: Secure user authentication, active session maintenance (session ID), load balancing, memorization of your privacy preferences (cookie consent), and fraud prevention.
2.2. Audience Measurement and Analytics Cookies
In our effort to continuously improve the performance of our analysis tools (SEO/GEO), we may use cookies measuring the audience and use of the Platform (e.g., number of visits, pages viewed, user journey).
- Purposes: Establish anonymized attendance and usage statistics.
- Legal note: In accordance with the recommendations of the French CNIL and European standards, if these tools strictly meet the conditions for exemption (no cross-referencing of data, scope limited to the production of anonymous statistics), they may be placed without prior consent. Otherwise, your express consent will be required via our cookie management module.
2.3. Third-Party Cookies (SaaS Interconnections)
Using the Platform sometimes requires integrating third-party services (such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics via API). These interconnections occur via secure protocols and do not deposit advertising or behavioral targeting (retargeting) trackers on the beReferenced Platform end-user's browser without their explicit consent.
No advertising cookies are imposed by default on beReferenced.
3. Retention Period
In compliance with European data protection standards:
- Cookies or trackers are kept only for the duration strictly necessary for their purpose.
- The validity period of consent (or refusal) to the deposit of cookies is six (6) months. After this period, you will be asked for your preferences again.
- The maximum technical lifespan of a cookie on your terminal does not exceed thirteen (13) months.
- Attendance data associated with an identifier (for analytics cookies subject to consent) is kept for a maximum period of twenty-five (25) months.
4. Managing Your Preferences
You have several ways to manage your cookie choices:
4.1. Cookie Management Module
During your first visit to the Platform, an informative banner (consent collection interface) allows you to accept, refuse, or configure the deposit of cookies subject to consent. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking on the "Manage my cookies" link located in the footer of our website.
4.2. Browser Settings
You can configure most web browsers to prevent cookies from being saved or to alert you before accepting them. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will significantly alter, or even make impossible, your access to our SaaS solution.
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
- Apple Safari: Preferences > Privacy.
5. Contact and Data Protection
For any questions relating to the use of trackers on our Platform or to exercise your rights under the GDPR (right of access, rectification, portability, limitation, and erasure), you can contact our data protection referent:
- By email: [email protected]
In the event of an unresolved dispute, you retain the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority (e.g., the CNIL in France).
